Mare Heron Hake

Mare Heron Hake is a poet, editor, and fiction writer in Washington State. She earned her MFA in 2016, working with both David Wagoner and Derek Sheffield at the Northwest Institute of Literary Arts. She was an organizer and founder of the Red House Writers Literary Workshop weekends, and served as co-publisher and genre editor for Tahoma Literary Review before her care-giving responsibilities took precedence.

Her work has appeared in Terrain.org, the Atlanta Review, and other journals and anthologies. Two books, both written and illustrated by Hake, were published in the middle of the pandemic: SurvivalEye (Arroyo Seco Press, 2021) and Passages (Xlibris, 2021). At Ink & Ribbon Press, she reads manuscripts and shortlists submissions for the editorial team.
